2017 Spaun maple shell, 5 1/2" x 14"

 

 Once again, I was wandering around in a music store between shows, and I found this beautiful drum on their shelf.  I picked it up and tapped it with a stick, and the drum just played beautifully.  I have never seen this model on their website, but I believe this was made exclusively for the Sam Ash music stores only.  A 5 ply maple shell, with a light walnut veneer with an abalone center inlay, the drum looks as great as it sounds.  A very explosive and cutting instrument with an extremely warm follow through.
