Yamaha SD-086, birch/mahogany shell, 6 1/2" x 14"

 

 This drum was given to me by someone who found it in a trash can!  It was missing the heads, tension rods, snare wires, and 1 hoop when I received it. I cleaned it up, replaced the missing parts, and the drum now looks and plays beautifully. The snare wires extend over the shell, which gives this drum the ultimate in snare sensitivity. The Redwood finish is a lacquer finish that shows the underlying wood grain. This drum was a great find, and it gets a lot of use in many different playing situations.
